The Darkness Does Not Comprehend (John 1:5)

March 3rd, 2008

The Light of Christ shines into the darkness, penetrating it, cutting through, yet the darkness itself will never understand the light. Light and darkness cannot be in the same place. At any point where there is light, the darkness is not there. If one is in darkness, they cannot see, they fumble about. But if there is any light at all, they can begin to find out where they are and what is around them. This person can then follow the light to its source, but the darkness itself never can.

Also, darkness can never overcome light. As long as the light source exists and it emitting light, the darkness cannot win over it. Darkness only prevails when there is no light source. As soon as the light source exists, the darkness is banished and it can do nothing but cease to exist.

If you find yourself in darkness, you will be lost, but all you need is the slightest amount of light to begin finding a way out. One never needs to understand the darkness, all they need to do is know the light.
