So, due to miscommunication, my plan would net me just over $1, not $1000 on Entropia. Such is life {:0p
I've started playing Entropia Universe. It's an MMORPG that has the uniqueness of being able to trade the in game currency for real cash at 10 = $1 USD. I've got a plan that might net me $1000 to $1500 a month, but I'm not sure if it'll work. It will only take about an hour a day to do it, too. I'll certainly blog about it.
This is a really neat external hard drive.
Have you found a better battery? I've had some good and bad batteries. My wife and I need to get some rechargeable batteries. With a baby coming, we're going to also need to get some battery driven gadgets and we certainly want to get ones we can reuse. We can be more green that way too, as well as save money. There is a site, AllBatts, I'll check out too see if I can get a good deal on rechargables and maybe a camcorder battery. We'll need a new ones of those soon too. The site also has cell phone batteries, AC adapters, and PDA batteries. If I find a good deal there, it might be the way to go. When a site specializes in one thing, it should be able to do it quite well.
One ad spot I've bid in had been getting The Space Turtle a crazy amount of hits. The ads appear inside clickable spots flash games at Wet Genes. The bounce rate is just over 85% and they spend just about two minutes on my site, but it is something. That was with 41 hits. That was from just one area of their site. The ads have been clicked far more times that 41. It is an interesting concept, selling changeable ad space inside flash games.
Sorry, no Wowio reviews yet, still adjusting to the new job. I work a bit different hours than before. It's better though.
There is a site called YawpBox that allows users to add content to the site, text, audio, pictures, and video. There are various categories that users can submit content too, such as the Lex and Terry challenges that involve things like your best prank, your worst hair day, and the one that I submitted a video too, reenacting a scene from a movie. I used the same character from this video I made.
It's was pretty fun for me to try and find a way to work this character into a video of that category then making it. It only took one take, since all I really had to do was fall over. I'd encourage you to at least check this site out, it has some really promise.
My video that I put on the site is here.
As I mentioned before, I played Race For The Galaxy for the first time on Sunday. I will give a brief synopsis of the game here.
Race For The Galaxy is a card came for 2-4 players. The theme is galactic expansion. You need not be a science fiction fan to enjoy the game, but it may help. Play is divided into 5 sections each turn: Explore, Develop, Settle, Trade/Consume, and produce. Before each turn every player selects one of these and will gain a bonus during that round. If one player chooses a certain phase, all players can take action during that phase, but only the ones who chose it get the bonus. If a section is not picked by anyone, no one can take action during that phase.
One interesting thing about the game is the cards are everything, even the money and goods in the game, except for keeping track of the score. There are chits provided for this. Players can explore to gain more cards, develop by discarding cards to play various cards that give victory points and other bonuses, settle planets either by discarding cards, or some require you to have a certain amount of Military points. These are gained from card abilities. Players can also trade or consume goods for more cards or victory points, and in the produce phase, planet cards will gain a resource, which is noted by placing a card face down over the planet card. Players never directly (and hardly ever indirectly) attack or hurt another player. The Game ends when either all the victory point tokens are taken, or when a player reaches 12 or more cards in their tableau of cards.
The game takes a few rounds to get used to, but I found it very fun and that it offers a variety of strategies to choose from. I'd give it a hearty 8/10 from the one time I played it.
I started my new job today. I like it a lot. It's not too hard, not too easy, and keeps my busy the whole time. I didn't feel tired and worn out after work and I didn't feel like I had been there for as long as I was there.
Yesterday was my wife's birthday. We went with my parents to lunch for pizza, then went to my parents house and Erin got some gifts, then we all played Race For The Galaxy. Erin and I played as a team, and mom, dad, and my sister played separately. We won! In the end, we had almost double points as anyone else. I'll write more about the game later in detail.
So, I knew I was getting lots of hits from a certain site, but it wasn't showing up in my analytics data. I added a button on my main page to link to The Beanspiration, and noticed my analytics code was outside the body tags. That messed up my data for sure {:0p
It's fixed now, so lets see what happens.
I use the site Wowio to get books to read every so often. How the site works is, all the content is free to the reader. But how? You ask. Doesn't the author deserve to be paid for all their hard work? Of course they do! But that's what makes Wowio so special. They provide free books and the author gets paid. But how? You ask. The books are downloadable .pdf files. Before you download the book, a copy is specially bound just for you. In the beginning and the end of the book is an advertisement. The ads don't interfere with your reading, which is good. Imagine of at a climactic point on came an ad! Check it out, it has a lot to offer.
I am going to start writing reviews of content that is available on Wowio. Mostly just comics, since if I reviewed full books, you'd get a review once every maybe never.
Look for them to follow. Also, they are not sponsored posts. Even if it were it would not change how I would review something, but I just wanted to make that clear. I'll create a link so if all you want to read is the reviews, you can do that. I'll keep spoilers out. I don't like spoilers. They spoil things.
