Well, after going to bed at 8:30 with a temperature of 100.5 I woke up around 3am without a fever. I fell back asleep at about 4:15 and got up about 6:40. Went to work today and had a far better day than yesterday. I'm in the winning stage of the sickness because I think my phlegm output from my lungs in greater than the input.
So far my ninja video isn't vote-able yet since it hasn't been uploaded to the contest, and there aren't enough entries yet. It has been viewed 41 one times on youTube though.
After watching Tommyboy the other day, Erin and I kept having a craving for pizza. There's a scene where Tommy goes to get pizza but the pizza place was closed. If it was open, we probably would have gotten pizza sooner, but we got some Papa Murphy's today, Classic Italian. I think I can put it in the oven now.
Check this out! I entered a movie contest. It's for Mobile Talk from Packet 8. If you make voip international calls, it looks like it's the bee's knees. From the your cell phone, you can call internationally using VoiP. You don't need a PC or a Laptop, no need to find a hot spot since you can make calls from your cell phone. It works with over 400 phone models. You also don't need a calling card, since all you do is sign up for the service, and anytime you make an international call, the service takes over automatically and routes the call, saving you money since it is generally cheaper than current mobile phone international rates.
The prizes are:
(1) MacBook valued at $1,099
(1) iPhone valued at $399
(1) iPod valued at $249
(10) Runner-ups will receive a $20 Starbucks gift card
Below is the embedded video I made. The contest called for an 'outside; the box video, so I decided to be a ninja who talks about the advantages of using Mobile Talk with a cell phone above lugging around a laptop and looking for Hot Spots. It took a few takes, since I didn't have a whole lot of time to prepare, but I think it came out ok. At first my wife Erin was accidentally hitting the picture button, then I was doing good and the camera got bumped. Of course I did my fair share of messing up my lines. I saw a couple other videos for this contest... so far, I think I've got a fair chance.
Please vote for me at here
If I win, I'll let you touch the MacBook,
or listen to a song on my iPod, or
give you a call on my iPhone.
If I get the coffee card,
too bad }:0D
I've not felt too great today. I hardly got any sleep last night. I kept waking up every 1 or 2 hours to cough up lovely lung goop, and tossing my cake once.. I went to work but left after about 1.5 hours. I ended up sleeping about 5 hours. I felt better after eating some noodles.
I'm still not breathing all that great, but way less shallow than before now that I've gotten a whole lot of gunk out of my lungs.
I also found out my timestamps were all crazy on this blog. I had the main time set right, but had a setting that allowed for users to choose their own time zones. I disabled that and now all the times are working right.
I haven't had many friends who got into drugs, if any, really. I do know that drug abuse is a problem, though, for lots of people and their families. Drugs destroy lives and hold people back from living a life they can enjoy. They eat your time and money, and bleed you dry into a husk of a human. But, if someone chooses, they can escape into a better way of living.
One such way is a drug rehab center in Michigan called Narconon Stone Hawk Drug Treatment Center. They offer a combination of proper nutrition and nutritional supplementation to help eliminate drug addiction. By providing an environment suited to nourish the body, they help recovering addicts overcome their addictions.
If you know someone in the Michigan area who needs help, the Narconon Stone Hawk Drug Treatment Center is one option.
Well, I've had Project Wonderful installed for 3 days and I'm already getting paying ads! Most so far is .20 a day.
If this keeps up, I'll surpass Adwords quickly!
A good while back I was playing paintball. I got a Spyder, semi-auto. Pretty good gun. I'm not sure of the model, but it certainly doesn't look as cool as the spyder vs3, which looks pretty sweet if you ask me. Anyways, so I was playing paintball with a couple of my friends, and there were these two dudes who were like drinkin' beer like it was water on a hot day. It got pretty nuts. It was fun for a while, shooting the drunk guys, but it got too easy and got old after a bit. Two really funny things happened, though. The first was, one of the dudes was in a tree! Not a really big tree, but he climbed up it a bit. I took several shots but never called that he was hit. After the round, I asked why he was in the tree, and he didn't seem to remember being in any tree. The second thing was the best.
So, the place were were playing was wooded, had some forts, and wasn't flat and was pretty large. We started one round and I advanced across almost to the enemy starting point without resistance. I ducked down, and there was one of the dudes who'd had more Buds than a thriving rose bush. He was just standing there like he hadn't even moved. I figure, what the heck, and I put about three shots into his chest, paint all over. Then the dude starts shooting randomly (it seemed, at least) into the trees! Well, I knew I had hit him, but he wasn't calling it, so I decided to make sure he knew. I popped about three more paintballs on his mask. What I didn't realize at the time one of my friends was there shooting too, since when he had fired before he fired just when I had. The guy had to have gotten six or seven colorful rounds to the mask. The ref yelled out that he was out. It was pretty funny. Afterwards, the ref was like, "why did you keep shooting? You were out." and the dude was like "Well, the round had just started and I got hit, so I just went all Terminator." Man, what a fun day that was.
The moral of the story is, paintball is fun. The site there I linked too offers free shipping on $99+ orders, so they are a great place to go shopping for paintball gear. I can't wait to play again.
I noticed that when I put script code in blocks using the Full HTML input format, such as Project Wonderful ads, or little counters, it added extra space around whatever object is in the block. This didn't look good on my site, so I decided to try something. Using Filtered HTML doesn't work at all, but if you choose the PHP Code input format, the white space goes away! I'm not sure why, but it does, so who cares right?
My wife and I recently got a small heater for our apartment. It's a portable heater that has a timer and temperature settings to keep the room a consistent temperature. It also oscillates and has a remote. It's very nice. The apartment has baseboard heating which I really don't like. It's along the walls behind where we put desks and couches and I'm afraid it will catch something on fire, and it seems pretty expensive to run. I'm really happy with the small heater I got though, and it was only about forty bucks, too.
At the Life Group, we've been meeting at the church. They have this room that is designed to look a lot like a living room. It does a pretty good job. It doesn't have the feeling of being in a house, but the room is really cozy and comfy. On the wall it has a heater that looks like a fireplace. I'm not sure if it is electric, or one of those gas infrared heaters, but it really heats the room up. It looks pretty neat, too. It has an effect behind the fake logs that makes it look like there is flames. It looks pretty realistic, and a lot more functional than those VCR/DVD fireplaces on your TV screen.
I wouldn't mind having one of those when we get a house. Also, there is a shopping center nearby that I think has heaters that work a lot like the ones in the link I posted above. They feel really nice to stand near. It's warmth without that stuffy 'heat smell' you can get sometimes. That may be because the heaters at the shopping place are outside, but they are pretty neat in any case.
If you have an apartment, or want to keep one room warm, the portable ones are great, but when I get a house, I want to get something that is nicer, like one of those fireplaces.
When I was approved for Project Wonderful, I had trouble putting the banner ad above my content. If you are a Drupal user and have tried to do with with blocks, you will know it just puts the the block below the content. After poking and prodding, I found out what to do.
First, you'll need access to the template folders in your Drupal install directory. For each theme you want the content in, open the page.tpl.php file in the specific theme directory (i.e. Garland, pushbutton, etc) Find the part of the code like this:
<?php if ($mission) { ?><?php print $mission ?><?php } ?>
Put whatever code you need right below the ?> before any other code. This will put the results of the code below the mission and above the content.
This worked with the Garland theme and Bluemarine theme. It may be different for other themes, but I have not tried.
Credit, loans, debt, common words in area area of the world I live in. People, at least in America where I live, tend to have a 'now' mindset. This causes people to get loans and get into debt. You'll see commercials that advertise a credit cards, and how many places accept them, all the things you can get, and most importantly, three freedom it will bring you. Raise your mouse if you feel a sense of unbridled freedom when your credit cards come in the mail.
The best way to avoid debt is this: Don't spend money you don't have. If it is too late for that, with a bit of discipline and effort, something like Unsecured loans or consolidation Homeowner loans can help. Here is how:
Credit cards use revolving debt. You pay a payment based on the balance. If you pay the minimums, it will take that debt a long time to be gone, since many times the interest cost is a great portion on the payment. If you can consolidate the debt into one loan with a fixed payment, you can actually pay it off faster and save in interest costs. This is because your payment stays the same, but the balance goes down. Eventually less and less goes to interest and more and more to the principal of the loan. This, along with not gathering more debt can help wipe out debt from your life.
Another tip before getting Loans is to ask if it is a simple or scheduled interest loan. Make sure who you asked understands the question. A scheduled interest loan basically means that no matter when you pay, the payment is applied on a certain date and the lender gets all the interest they can. On a simple interest loan, payments are applied right away when received and applied to any owed interest and the balance is recalculated. This mean if you can pull off making a payment twice a month instead of once, even if you pay the same amount combined, paying more often will pay off the loan faster.
So, the key is, don't get into debt. Debt is the enemy of wealth. If you have debt, so everything you can to remove it from your life.
